HAMMER THROW AT OLYMPIC TRIALS
The 2012 Track and Field USA Olympic Team Trials held in Eugene, Oregon (aka "TrackTown USA"), will have a different schedule this time for the hammer throwers. For these Olympic Trials, there is one day set aside just for hammer throwers and it's the first event before the rest of the events begin at the Trials. Both men and women will qualify and compete in the finals on one day- Thursday, June 21st. A.G. & I (Laura), friends, and family have been to Eugene, OR, in the past for National Championship Meets so visiting this TrackTown again this summer will be a familiar place.

LIFETIME BEST PR
The 2012 Indoor Season has begun and on Friday, January 20, 2012 he competed at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. He threw a lifetime best throw of 25.18m (82' 7") with the 35-lb weight. His throw broke the University of Findlay's fieldhouse record of 81' 5" by Libor Charfrietag of Slovakia.

2012 SEASON TO BEGIN
With the start of a new year also brings the start of a new throwing season- which means the 2012 Olympic Games are getting closer and closer. Indoor season, then outdoor season, makes for busy days and even busier weekends. We hope to post as much information here and on my facebook page to keep you updated. If you have questions, please use the "Contact" tab. Thanks!

KRUGERS WELCOME BABY BOY!
A.G. and Laura welcome Alfred George "Geo" Kruger IV into the family on August 16, 2011. He has been a delight and continues to grow. Tess, now a 4 year old canine, is embracing the new little creature around the house but still, as always, craves attention. 2012 will be a fantastic, memorable year- whatever it brings!

TRAINING CONTINUES...
A.G. has already started creating his Indoor Meet Schedule and Outdoor Meet Schedule for 2011. Details of his schedule will be updated on this website (on the THROWS tab; event calendar) and on GoKruger (facebook). Stay tuned!

During this Cup, the leading world’s athletes will compete in the selections Europe, Northern and Southern America, Africa and Asia & Oceania. A.G. WINS USA INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP

A.G. competed in the 2010 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in NM. A.G. threw the 35 lb. weight 24.99m which is a personal best and just short of the national/world/meet record of 25.86 in 1995 by Lance Deal. A.G.'s throw was the 10th farthest throw in the world ever! He was very excited to throw that far and was even featured on ESPN.

A.G. Kruger spins before releasing during men's weight throw ...

Quote: "I had a lot of fun this year. I trained to throw far. I knew I was capable so I just came out here and threw. The tenth best throw ever. It was great." -A.G. Kruger

How is A.G. able to work full-time and train full-time?

                                                                  A.G. IN HALL OF FAME

CONGRATULATIONS JUD ON BREAKING TWO WORLD RECORDS!
Ashland University head track and field coach Jud Logan set two masters world records Saturday (Oct. 17) at Bowling Green State University.

This was Logan's first meet as a masters performer. In the hammer throw, he recorded a throw of 235 feet, 4 inches. That easily surpassed the previous world record of 219-4, owned by Great Britian's Chris Black.  Black set the record in 2002.

Logan also set a new mark in the weight throw. His best effort there on Saturday was 79-7.  Again, that was plenty to break the record of 73-10, set by Vasilis Maganas of Greece in 2004.

"It was great to break two world records in one day," said Logan.  "The weather was not the greatest, it was 43 and overcast, but we had over 100 in attendance, including many members of the AU track team, including Joe Woodske, who flew in from Denver and my old training partner from 1987, Angus Cooper, who flew in from New Zealand and worked with AU throwers all week."
